There is a huge amount of competition among small jewelers. What I can tell you is to find a niche that is not already saturated. It’s going to depend on where you are, your style and what materials you are comfortable working in. Some small niche ideas are eyeglass chains, body jewelry, name badge chains (for nurses in a hospital, corporate employees, etc.), cell charms, purse pulls, shoe decor, bookmarks, purse straps, clothing straps, etc.

I’d say you could sell just about anything as long as you have a quality product, are upfront with your customers, and have a good marketing plan.
It sounds like you are just starting out… You may want to look into selling on Etsy.com it is a relatively easy way to get started selling your handmade designs.
