adobeprincess asked: I need to find a clasp that I can attach to leather cord. The problem I am finding is that most of these are either sterling or base metal which I am allergic to. Do you know of a solution of how I can attach a clasp to a choker of leather round cord? I need to be able to make it a specific length. This is my problem. Any solutions? I need some metal or other material that is not base meal and does not contain nickel.
Any solutions would be appreciated.
Eye I love that word canabalize. Well there are tons of things that an allergic person can use. If you want to know you can research that one for yourself. I can use that idea however. Jewelry Supply catalogs have many other options. Basically anything without nickel will work. Think about it animal vegtable mineral whatever will work. Just without nickel. I am trying to make something nice here, so at this point I am not using plastic, but it is an option.
Thanks for mentioning the leather on leather tie option people I know about that one and it is good. I am going for a clasp right now.
Thanks for mentioning Michaels and the like. I think they are kind of pre-fab and low end. I really think they are expensive for what a person gets. I like more wholesale higher quality items rather than mass market stuff. I go for the more unique or the higher quality stuff. Thanks for the michaels however. I think it is important to get bead stuff from all sources. Yard sales junk stores and even michaels sometimes, just I find their findings really expensive and limited for what you get. Thank you anyway. I really appreciate it.
Thanks for mentioning wood that is a good idea. I have not thought of lately.

Maggie asked: I am leaving for vacation in two days and I don’t have time to shop for a jewelry roll or travel jewelry box. Any ideas for creating one with stuff from around the house? I have some crafting skills, but no sewing machine or anything like that. I just need space for a couple of necklaces, bracelets and pairs of earrings and way to keep them from tangling.

Here is a description of the earrings that I put with them along with selling them… It will give you a better idea of what they are instead of just guessing. Unfortunately the beauty of them was hard to capture on a camera, so they truly look far more magnificent than words in real life…
But what can you do? Oh well. I’ll trust your judgment.
Cappuccino Délicieux
(translates to delicious cappuccino)
These one of a kind, brilliant handmade earrings are made on a brass earring hook and pin, adorned with a beautiful glass black bead, with sparkly bronze colour wrapped around. Made with two matching bronze seed beads at either end of the focal bead, and a black small bead on top. These earrings will truly express your love for handmade jewelry and will match and compliment any hair colour.

I was wondering how I can make a wooden jewelry box. I wont have access to any machines or anything like that, Im plannin on getting the materials just at my local home depot. A list of materials would also come in handy, if anyone can add suggestions. I want the box to be about the size of a regular shoe box, and nothing fancy, just a box with a lid that opens up, used for storage of keepsakes that include photos, letters, etc. I also plan on engraving something in the front, maybe with a knife, any suggestions to this would also be appreciated.
