Does anyone know how to make cute necklaces and earrings?

I would like to make a necklace and earring set for my bridesmaids to wear during the wedding. I’ve seen some really cute handmade costume jewlery and I thought that would be a really nice thank you gift. Any ideas or photos would be appreciated. I want the jewlery to be either burgandy/gold or burgandy/silver.
