How do you tighten a crimping tube when making jewelry?

I just started beading and cant seem to get the crimping bead on tight enough when attaching a clasp or jump ring. I pull the beading wire through the crimping bead twice (in opposite directions). After I crimp the bead, it seems tight but then when I pull to see if it is tight, it comes apart.

They make special pliers to crimp those with that I use, with no slippage, you can also use a pair of needle nose pliers, but make sure they are very thin, otherwise the teeth on them wont allow the crimping tube to squish tight enough. evangel_42

What you need is a strong pair of beading pliers. Crush the crimping beads onto the string. If your using either using nylon thread (it works better on that) or Nemo thread (like shiny string)). If your trying to trap the beads onto the wire then yes you need to crush the metal bead onto the thread. Another way of doing it is to make the metal wire (im guessing your using either 1 or 1.5mm wire) then if your using bigger crimping bead, you can bend the wire back over itself and twist it tightly around itself then put the bead on after its secure. The stronger the pliers and the ribs on the pliers, the stronger it will hold. I hope i helped and good luck. ~ Little Miss Alice ~
