   Ohhh!! I do this all the time!

   You need:

   Seed beeds (both large and small)
   Assorted beads
   Wire
   Fish hook earrings
   Elastic String
   Wiring (.7mm, etc.)
   Clasps
   Crimp Beads
   Spacers (for earrings)
   Round-nose, flat, and needle-nose pliers

   If you want to see what you can do with those things, get a bead or jewelry-making magazine. I have one of those and I look in it all the time for tips and tricks. Hope this helps! :-)) Nenna

   well of course you’d need beads. i’d also get needle nose plier, wire cutters and tiger tail wire. devg55

   Beads, and thread, wires, and get like a set of jewelr makers. You also need the end of the jewelry, the thing that conects onepart to another. kiran s

   Basic jewelery-making kit would consist of wire, earring hooks, jump rings and simple clasps for necklaces and bracelets, flat and round-nosed pliers, wire snippers and a good selection of beads.

   As you build your kit up you may want to add materials like leather thong, nylon or thin cord (for making strings of beads), a bead board (to help design necklaces and bracelets) and have basic materials in different metals, e.g. silver, gold, bronze or brass, gunmetal etc etc. You may also want to add “findings” - things like shaped and tooled metal that you can attach beads to to make pendants or earrings.

   When you are starting out beads can prove expensive so raid charity shops, second-hand shops etc for cheap necklaces etc that you can dismantle and reuse the beads from. miss_blue_47

   I have an ‘assorted bead’ type kit that gave me an assortment to work with–very handy because there aren’t always perfect matches. It keeps the creative juices flowing. Other supplies you might want are wire (whatever kind you like, there’s no “better” width overall), elastic, clasps, and fish hook/post earrings. If you’re going to use wire, invest in a good plier kit. One that has needle nose, flat nose, rounded tips (great for thicker wire and swirl making), needle nose-cutters, and cutters is a great kit. But all that’s necessary are a cutter and either needle-nose or flat nose, depending on which one you like. Liz

   I started making my own jewelry in February. I bought a whole metric boatload of stuff and have been having fun ever since.

   What I got:

   Pliers/tools - ergonomic is best:

   Round nose (for making loops out of wire)
   Chain nose (for general gripping)
   Crimping pliers
   Flush cutters (for a flat cut)
   Tigertail cutters (don’t use regular cutters on tigertail/acculon)

   Findings and other parts:

   eyepins
   headpins
   jump rings
   clasps
   earring findings (french hooks, leverbacks, studs)
   crimp beads
   beading wire (Accu-flex, tigertail, Beadalon, etc.)

   and beads, beads, beads. I have gone to several bead shows and picked up lots for good prices, but you can also go to craft stores and look online on webstores and eBay. Here is one of the best sites out there:

   you should get

   simple beads
   seed beads (those little ones)
   different clasps
   crimp beads
   crimp pliers
   different wires
   flat nose and round nose pliers
   wire cutters
   jump rings

   this is what i started out with and buy different patterns to get your ideas flowing Janafer
