Craft stores, like AC Moore, or Michael's in my area (both have online info), have tons of things to answer your questions for jewelry fixing, repair or making!

....material not metal, is wood.....and you can cover it with leather, and they have plastic....cheaper! Help! Child is Cutting/Slashing

Sterling Silver does not contain Nickel. It is 92.5% Silver and 7.5% copper. If you buy from a reliable source, you should have no problem with Sterling clasps. You could also go to a local goldsmith and ask him/her to make clasps for you from 999 fine Silver. Or, if you are willing to pay the price, you could buy gold clasps.
See examples for silver & gold clasps from a reliable source at:
good luck,
Sarit. wolfus_s

I had a choker style necklace that had knots tied around either end. That way you put it over your head then pull the knots in opposite directions and it tightens up.
What other jewelry can you wear? I would look for some el cheapo jewelry that I wasn't allergic to, then cannibalize it for the clasp. eyesinthedarkness
