Jewelry Making - How to keep a pendant from flipping over?

I’m rather new to making jewelry, and I’ve been having some difficulty with connector pendants that are flat backed. It seems when chain is attached to the sides to form the necklace (as opposed to hanging from the middle, like in a traditional pendant), the pendant often flips over during wear, so that it is upside down or backwards.

Does anyone know how to keep this from happening? (I hope I explained it clearly). It probably has something to do with weight distribution, but I was trying to keep it simple.

I have been very passionate about jewelry my entire life. As an adult, I have made dozens of beaded pieces and several wire wrapped pieces. I’m very interested in learning other techniques to take my jewelry making to the next level but I don’t know where to start. Since I am a busy professional, I’m interested in taking weekend classes either group or private.

I currently live in the Sonoma County in California. I would love any local leads or resources. I don’t know where to start as to learning how to proceed with bench work, molds and other techniques.

How do I go about doing this if I live in an expensive city with many nice stores. Am I too young to sell my creations in a store? How many things do I have to have to sell? Are there any places you can think of that would alow me to sell my things that wouldn’t be such an expensive place? Like are there any chain stores that would allow me to sell my pieces?

This helps somewhat. It’s for my chemistry class. We have to list 5 chemicals or chemical reactions that are used in different occupations. Mine is jewelry making. I will see if these work. They can’t just be elements such as gold, silver, copper, etc.
