How do you tighten a crimping tube when making jewelry?

I just started beading and cant seem to get the crimping bead on tight enough when attaching a clasp or jump ring. I pull the beading wire through the crimping bead twice (in opposite directions). After I crimp the bead, it seems tight but then when I pull to see if it is tight, it comes apart.

I need help with buying things for jewelry making? What are these called?

Wire - is it just called wire if i ask for it?
What are the little metal pieces called to secure the loop on the end of wire when you put the clasp on?
And are the clasps just..clasps or is there another name?
what else would i need, besides beads/pendants.
