How to turn down my friend’s handmade wedding jewelry?

So, my mom’s best friend, who I adore, made me jewelry for my wedding. She did this in cohorts with my mom and revealed that she did this recently. My wedding is in June and i’d kinda had my heart set on a pearl necklace and pearl earrings since my wedding dress was only 40 bucks (great steal) and it is a vintage, 1940s style cocktail dress. My engagement ring is also a pearl, so I wanted to continue the look.
This woman’s stuff is very pretty, but it is very casual and not what I wanted at all. I was cornered a while back about it and even though I tried to tell her that I wanted pearls, she didn’t seem to listen. How do I tell her I don’t want to wear this jewelry on my wedding day? I don’t want to hurt her feelings and her daughters are my flower girls….
My idea is to wear it at the rehearsal dinner and wear my pearls for the wedding? Do you think she would be offended if I did this?
Thanks!
Micheal: Her daughters are my flower girls. She is invited to the rehearsal dinner.
